Pat Leach

Pat Leach joined the Fire Safe Council staff as the Firewise Coordinator in the Spring of 2021 after assisting the formation of thirteen Firewise USA^® Communities on the San Juan Ridge. Pat, a resident of Nevada County since 1997 with husband Steve, reside in the Salmon Mine-East Sages Firewise Community. Currently, Pat is serving her fifth term on the North San Juan Fire Protection District Board and is also on the Board of the Nevada County Fire Authority (JPA). Additionally, while raising two daughters on Oahu Hawaii, her family business was a provider of fire detection and suppression equipment to the military, merchant ships, government, commercial and residential installations, and helped Honolulu’s Mayor’s staff update fire codes. However, she acknowledges her term as Deputy Director of an internationally focused strategic think tank was her most interesting endeavor while in the Islands. While her most satisfying work is now her passion of informing residents of the tactics modeled by the NFPA Firewise USA^® program.
